Please note: due to many factors, we cannot predict the times of particular events. One event simply follows the other.
We are excited to provide the senior black belt division (ages 18-32) with full electronic scoring systems for gyoroogi. The electronic hogu will be provided at the tournament, but we require senior black belt competitors to purchase their own electronic footwear in advance of the UC Open. The appropriate footwear can be found at Daedo USA. For all other divisions, we require the WT chest protector (see image to the right) and regular non-electronic footgear. As usual, all other safety equipment is also required. For a list of safety equipment, please check the registration packet.
The cost to participate in the UC Open is $80 base fee including one event, plus $10 for each additional event.
Spectators and Coaches
Coaches may purchase their passes at the door for $35. Free Coach Pass for every 10 competitors signed up per school. In addition, we will be adding up to one free parking pass per school if 5 competitors are signed up by Friday, September 21, 2018, 11:59pm PDT.
It is our pleasure to share the UC experience with the greater community. We gladly encourage visitors to attend the tournament and support the Taekwondo competitors from the stands of the Haas Pavilion. Spectator passes will be sold the day of the tournament ($10 for general admission, $5 for Cal students with ID and children under 12, and free for children under the age of 4). All guests are welcome.
The match times will be USAT standard for black belts and as stated in the registration packet for color belts.
There will be a concession stand within the RSF with snacks and drinks during the tournament. Only water will be allowed inside the Kleeberger Field House and the competition area. There are multiple restaurants nearby on Telegraph Avenue, Bancroft Way, and Durant Avenue.
